Cup Competition - How do Add a Cup

This guide will show you how to add and edit a cup within the competition portal.

To create a cup, sign in to competitions.thefa.com with your usual email address and FA password and select the competitions tab on the left and then cups tab at the top. 

You will then need to click on the Add cup on the right hand side. 

This will then bring up the numerous options and criteria for the division (Cup name, age group, format, gender,  Primary match day, disability, type, Start date and end date) which you will need to complete before you are able to create (missed mandatory fields will show in orange when you select save).  

The cup will then appear in the section under Competitions on the left and then the Cup tab. 

Teams will then need to added to the cup. You can do this by clicking on the orange square under the teams section (Please look at image above to find where to click) It will then bring up a screen where you can add in your external teams by clicking on Add External Team. 

You will then need to select the County FA and the team name and click on Search for Teams.

This will bring up your team that you are looking for. 

You can add as many teams into the cup as you like. 

Once all your teams have been added you can return back to the main page by selecting the back arrow. 

If you would like to remove a team from the cup you can do this by using the bin icon and can select multiple teams to remove by clicking on the tick box left of their name and the remove teams button will be activated.
